All materials are studied to pass rigid tests in order to check resistenace, durability and the correct use.
Inflatable elements are made of nylon/PU and are welded in high frequency for an optimal and durable held.
Thanks to the manufacturing materials, inflatable elements are machine washable.
To facilitate disconnection and cleaning, each single element is connected to the air distribution circuit by connectors with rapid buckle graft.
The replacement of a damaged element can be easily effected even if the patient is lying on the mattress.

The therapeutic effect is based on the principle of continuous low pressure with three differentiated sectors: head, torso and legs. This allows to obtain an optimal contact pressure, continuously below  the capillar occlusion (COP), along the whole patient's body.
The three  sensors located underneath the inflatable elements enable the mattress to achieve a constant automatic control of pressure which grants an ideal terapeutic effect suitable for every kind of patients.

The three sensors located under the inflatable elements of the mattress, and housed in a separate compartment to avoid difficult to clean spaces, adjust the  inflation pressure of the three mattress section as per patient's body shape and weight.

Principle of work
The sensors of the ALTEA are divided in three areas and allow the automatic regulation of the pressure inside the inflatable e lements. The pressure is therefore
automatically differentiated as per the three areas: head, tronco and legs, so that the mattress adapts to patient's body shape and weight.

The ALTEA compressor is fitted with a rechargeable battery, enabling it to work for approximately 2 hours in case of a power failure. Thus the bed can be moved without intterupting the therapeutic function. Furthermore, the mattress will remain inflated for 10-12 hours, when the air tubes are disconnected from the compressor.

The operation of the Altea electronic compressor is very simple and intuitive, thanks to the control panel symbols and messages shown on the LCD display. In addition to automatic inflation adjustment based on the three electronic sensors, it is also possible to manually adapt the inflation for the patient’s comfort by simply using the keys. The “maximum inflation” function can be used to inflate the mattress to the maximum (80 mbar) in a few minutes, making nursing and moving the patient easier. The “Maximum inflation” function shuts off automatically after 20 minutes and the system goes back to operating in the previously set mode. In the event of a power failure and with a flat battery, when power is restored the compressor resumes operation automatically, with no need for external intervention.

CPR FUNCTION (cardio-pulmonary rianimation)
In case of emergency, it is sufficient to open the valve positioned in the head area, identified by a visible yellow flap.
in about 10 seconds rianimation manouevres on the patient can be started.

The compressor is equipped with an acoustic/visual alarm system with shut-off, that trips in the event of low mattress pressure (pressure < 5 mbar) or a pump fault. Another alarm trips when the battery is almost flat, and must be recharged by restoring the mains power. The alarm messages are shown on the display and with a red warning light for better clarity and making it easier to intervene.
